My name is Tammy Moschella and I am the Canine Trainer here at the Pooch Hotel in Newton. I have been a professional dog trainer for two plus years! Prior to working at the Pooch Hotel, I was an Accredited Canine Trainer at PetSmart and worked in their doggie day care department, too. I obtained my Master Dog Trainer Certification from Catch Canine Trainers Academy. I have experience bathing and grooming canines, and have done pet sitting, dog walking and monitored play groups through the years.

I always use positive reinforcement techniques and minimally aversive methods of training. My first and foremost goal is to gain your dog’s trust and respect, and to develop a bond with both the pet and pet parent. My second goal is to help pet parents gain an understanding of their dog’s behaviors and how to address any issues. Teaching and motivating your dog to perform on a reliable basis is my third.

Tammy conducts private lessons for all breeds, sizes and ages of dogs. She holds group classes for Puppy Kindergarten (8 to 18 weeks), Good Dog Manners for adolescents and adult dogs; Tutor sessions (a/k/a A la carte training); Trick training classes; Stay and Study (Board and Train); Enrichment Sessons and Stress Less classes. Agility Training is going to be added to the training docket soon!

Tammy and her dog Sheena love to take long walks on the beach and hike in the mountains! Sheena is a terrier mix who Tammy rescued from a shelter 11 years ago! Ms. Moschella volunteers at animal shelters, helping to train canines in need of obedience training, to help them be more adoptable.
